Part of the Job 600 building in Parliament has caught fire.
According to the Greater Accra Regional Commander of the Fire Service, ACFO 1 Roberta Agrey Ghanson, the fire started from a store room within the building.
However, she added that what caused the fire is yet to be ascertained.
Speaking to the media, the Regional Commander said the fire is currently under control.
She indicated that an investigation will commence into the incident to identify the cause of the fire.
Meanwhile, the JoyNews’ Parliamentary correspondent, Kwaku Asante, says the entire premise is being evacuated.
According to him, the Assurance Committee’s meeting with the Works and Housing Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah is on hold due to the incident.
